Funny Stuff

Just a couple of funnies that has happened just today, I laid Grace down for a nap. Christian started asking to go outside. I told him that we had to wait for Grace to wake up from her nap. She usually naps about 2 or 3 hours and yes, I could have taken the monitor outside but I'm trying to buy an hour or two to clean up around the house. So anyway, I jump on the computer to check my inbox and take a peek at my favorite scrapbooking site (okay maybe I didn't want to clean, who can blame me?) Well I hear Christian go upstairs so I race up after him. He is laying in my bed and said he wanted to watch TV. Cool I thought. Maybe he would take a nap too. FAT CHANCE HOMEY!!!! Next thing I know, Grace is crying uncontrollably and Christian is talking to her. I walk into Grace's room to find Christian IN the crib with her and he looked at me and said, "NOW can we go outside?" That RASCAL went and woke Grace up to go outside. Now keep in mind, she has only been asleep for about 30 minutes at this point. So I scold Christian telling him to go sit on the couch and don't move. I'm trying to rock Grace back to sleep and I hear Christian up at the front door trying to unlock the door!!! So he got a spanking and Grace never went back to sleep. I finally was able to lay her down a couple of hours later (where she is now while I write this) so we will see how long she is able to sleep. WHEW!!!

While we were outside (since she never went to sleep, no sense in staying indoors) we were swinging in the hammock. Christian said he wanted to rock Grace so I put her on his lap. I had my arms around him and her, holding her on his lap. Christian had his arms around her too. I told him he was such a sweet boy. He said "No, I'm her big brother and she's my sister" It was like he was saying he is the big brother and suppose to do this for her. So sweet. Grace loves Christian and Christian loves Grace and I LOVE to watch this interaction between them everyday. It is the greatest thing. Makes all the other stuff (him waking her up as above) worth it!!

Life changes

I tell you what. With kids, you have to write EVERYTHING down because if you don't, you will forget it. I just had to walk through hell just to get my password for this blog. I remembered it but for whatever reason, blogger was telling me it was wrong........did I change it and forgot? is blogger screwed up? So I got a password recovery sent to my email associated with this account. Of course it isn't my primary email account so I had forgotten the email to that too!! Well you know the end of this story because obviously I'm blogging but I do have my piece of paper and pen right in front of me with all my new passwords written down. :)

Christian and Grace funnies

Well my laptop decided to go crazy and not come on. I have to take it to hopefully be fixed. I cannot blog about Grace's birthday party and include pictures yet b/c all the pictures were on my laptop. I do have a backup but prefer to keep the stationary desk clean of pictures. As we wait for my laptop to be cleaned and fixed, I figured I would blog about some of the sweet funny stuff that has been going on here for the last several months. I keep a notebook specifically for this type of stuff.

11/23/09: Christian had gone downstairs when we woke up, dad was on the couch, I was in the bed. Grace started crying in her crib. Christian started coming back upstairs saying "I'm coming Grace!" When he got into her room he said, "Hi Grace! How you doing Grace?!"Then came into my room to tell me to get Grace.

11/20/09: While rocking Grace in her room, Christian came in to talk for a minute. When he heard dad coming up the stairs, I told Christian to go into the closet and hide. When dad got upstairs he started the slow dinosaur stomp saying "where's Christian?" Christian from the closet yells "h-i-d-i-n-g!" in a sing-song voice.

11/09: While riding in the car the other day, Grace was "talking" babbling. Christian obviously fed up with her, says "Zip it Grace!" And puts his pointer finger and thumb together. Grace quiets down for just a minute and starts up again. After several attempts at "Zip it" he finally looks at her and says "Shut your mouth Grace!"

End of November 09: I was in the scrapbook room with Christian walks in:
Christian: Hi mama!
Me: Hi Christian!
CMB: Doing?
Me: I'm crafting, what are you doing?
CMB: Me crapping too!!
(2yrs 11mo)

March '10: We were sitting at a red light one day and when it turned green I guess the people in front of us didn't move fast enough bc my back seat driver pipes up and says "Go people it's green!" HA!

4/10/10: I was putting deodorant one with my little on looker. He said "Me too mom!" So I lifted up his shirt and tapped the deodorant under each arm. He said, "Mom, is it for the boobies?" LOL

4/9/10: Out of the blue, Christian folds his precious little hands and says, "Dear Jesus Lord, thank you for this day. Amen" (3yrs 3mo) Side note: April 11, 2010 he did the exact same thing except this time he added: I love you at the end before saying amen.

4/9/10: Grace got into some ketchup i had put our for Christian fries. She would dip her finger into it and put it to her mouth. Before she would eat it she shook her head no. Put her finger to her mouth, shake her head no, then eat it. Then she really shook her head (as if it were bitter) Then crazy chick did it again. Ketchup, finger to mouth, shake head no, eat ketchup, shake head no. Yes plain ketchup. Just like Christian does.

4/9/10: Riding in the car with kids and Jason, Christian says he wants to talk to dad on phone. He puts his hand up to his ear and says ring ring ring ring. Dad says hello?
After the conversation they had on "phone" Christian tells his dad that he had to go because his phone battery was dead! 21st Century kid for sure!

4/10/10 Grace got her big girl car seat. She is finally able to turn forward and face everyone. She loves it! The first time we rode with her window down she looked out the window the entire time with her eyes squinted. She loved the wind in her hair. She laughed the whole time until we got home. :)

Easter photo shoot

I had a friend of mine, who has been doing photography for about 3 years now, take some pictures of the kids for Easter. I have to say she did a fabulous job!!!! Here are just some of the pictures that she took and edited.

Blogger is really messing up with the uploading of the pictures and it has taken forever to upload pics right now so I am going to wait until tomorrow before I blog about Grace's birthday/birthday party. I really need to go to bed anyway so it's a blessing in a disguise.

Easter Sunday

What a glorious fun filled day we had Easter Sunday. We started out our day by going to church. It was the start of the new 3 services! We go to the 9:45am service then to Sunday School afterward. We had a different type of service this Sunday. We had "cardboard testimonies" Man was that a moving service. Check it out at http://www.exit137.org/ What it is, is people came up on the stage with a big piece of cardboard. On one side of the cardboard they put a couple of words describing where they were before Christ. For instance, someone said "addicted to drugs" Then on the other side they describe who they are now, after finding Christ. That "addicted to drugs" person flips his board over and now it says "addicted to God" How amazing?!! God is so good.

After that wonderful service, we went over to Ta and Pa's house. Christy and her boys were there. We ate a wonderful lunch that my mom had cooked, went outside and dyed eggs, (Christian's first time doing so) Filled Easter eggs with candy and went and hid them, did our Easter egg hunt and finally did a family photo shoot. Mom wouldn't get into any of the pictures b/c she said she didn't put makeup on, but we got pictures of Christy and the boys and then of Jason, the kids and myself. Boy was I one tired mama by the end of the day!! I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 that night.

Here are some pictures from Easter:

Can I pee on you?

As I write this out today, we are in the middle of potty training.....again. The first time, Christian got sick with diarrhea and we had to quit. The second time, same thing. Poor child is going to think every time I get him to sit on the potty he will eventually get sick. So here we are again. Third times a charm right? He is sitting beside me playing with Reese Pieces candy buck nude. Yep, we tried pull ups, tried "big boy underwear" now lets try just nude. That's how we are born, that's how God intended us to be, maybe just maybe that's how God potty trained Adam!! Before the Fall anyway. (I'm joking) Anyway. Christian had said something about wanting to pee outside. Sure! If it works, then lets try it. So we head outside and he sits on the front steps. I ask him if he wants to pee on the yellow flower. "no" I ask him is he wants to pee on the grass. "no" Then out of the mouth of this babe he says, "Mom can I pee on you?" OK, I know I said before I was willing to try anything but here I draw the line!!

He is getting better about the whole thing though. When we first started he would just pee and keep going about his business. Now when he pees he comes yelling at me that he peed and he has to go sit on the potty. We read a book every time he sits on the potty about potty training. In the book the little boy said that he doesn't like to be wet or dirty and that it feels yucky. So Christian tells me that he feels yucky. That is a start.

I took the necessary paper work up to the school house to get his spot in 3K reserved. He has to go through a screening process and for that he is scheduled for May 7 at noon. I have no idea what the screening process is. We are just going to show up for it. Most likely it is to see how much the child knows so they know what they are going to be dealing with.
